It seems that Gwen Stefani won’t be away from The Voice much longer, for NBC presidents Bob Greenblatt and Paul Telegdy have confirmed that the pop singer will be returning to the singing competition as an adviser. The pair confirmed the news by stating:

“We’re announcing those advisers in the next couple of weeks but she’s very close to the show”. Teledgdy continued, emphasising the appeal and enthusiasm to being her back: “We’d love to see Gwen back. She’s a great friend of this network, we love her, the audience loves her, lots of people love her”.

However, when asked about whether we could see Gwen return to the judges chairs, Teledgdy seemed less optimistic, explaining that they enjoy adding new faces to the panel: “We don’t know yet. We know what we’re doing in the spring, because Christina Aguilera‘s coming back, and for the fall, we’ve got the Olympics. As I say, we like to switch it up, so I think there will be some fresh faces too”.

One thing he could confirm for season 11 is that Bake Shelton and Adam Levine won’t be going anywhere: “They’ll be back in the fall 100%”. The Voice returns 29 February at 8:00pm on NBC. As for UK readers, you can catch series 5 of The Voice this Saturday on BBC One.
