We only just recently learnt that Etan Hawke is on board for Luc Besson‘s Valerian and now John Goodman is confirmed for the sci-fi film. The Wrap have revealed that Goodman will be voicing an alien creature, which fits into the strange new worlds set to feature in the film. The film is based on a series of Graphic Novels originally created by writer Pierre Christian and artist Jean-Claude Mezieres in 1967.

They follow the adventures of a time-travelling agent confirmed to be played by Dane DeHaan and his female companion, Laureline (Cara Delevingne). To round up the known casting, Clive Owen is playing a man named Commander Arün Filitt and Goodman, Hawke and Rihanna are signed up currently in unknown roles. The current working title is Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets and will hopefully will have the same sense of sci-fi fun seen in Besson’s The Fifth Element.
