The Marvel and Netfix collabration is now in full swing. With the success of Daredevil and the more recent Jessica Jones the next memebers of the Defenders are lining up. Luke Cage played by Mike Colter was introduced in Jessica Jones and will be next to have his own series. Now the fourth series Iron Fist has found it’s show-runner, Scott Buck.

Buck’s credits include work on Dexter (along with Jessica Jones show-runner Melissa Rosenberg), Rome and Six Feet Under. The show will follow Daniel Rand who returns to New York City after being missing for years where he discovers a criminal element corrupting his home. Using his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the power of the fiery Iron Fist he takes on the bad guys.

Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said: “Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet, we always look for the most creative minds in the field to help us bring our heroes to life, and with Scott we’ve found someone that can deliver yet another great series in the ongoing story of The Defenders”.

This all sounds very promising and Scott himself sounds excited, “I’ve always been drawn to writing complex, intriguing characters and that’s what most excites me about the opportunity to bring Danny Rand and Iron Fist to life”. Iron Fist is expected to arrive on Netflix early in 2017, watch this space for more news and casting as it appears.
