We have been hearing, nearly every two days, a new star joining the cast of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out sequel.
Today, it is Kate Hudson who will be joining the cast! No other details on her contract have been released yet, so we don’t know her role in this sequel either.
The star will be the fifth new cast to be part of the Knives Out 2 project, following the casting of Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, Edward Norton and Janelle Monae. However, we will also see Daniel Craig returning to play the role of Benoit Blanc, the private detective.
Some of the actors and actresses from the previous movie will not be featuring in the sequel, such as Jamie Lee Curtis who confirmed she wouldn’t be appearing in the film’s forthcoming film. She had featured as Lynda Drysdale, daughter of a writer Harlan Thrombey, played by Christopher Plummer, who will not be part of the cast either.
Plot details for the new film are unknown at this time other than Craig returning to solve another mystery revolving around a large cast of suspects. It is also unknown who Hudson will be playing in the sequel.
Netflix, who has bought the rights, has this upcoming movie set for 2022, but there should be a third instalment to come. Filming for the sequel, according to Deadline, should be starting this summer in Greece. By then we should have more information on the actual premise, if it will resemble the previous movie that was a huge hit.
