‘King Of The Hill’ Revival In The Works From Original Creators’ New Animation Company

King Of The Hill is the latest show to be getting the revival treatment. The animated series will return twelve years after its final episode aired, with original series creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge returning to oversee the series through their new animation company, Bandera Entertainment.

The series originally aired from 1997 – 2010 and followed the banal yet entertaining exploits of the humble citizens of Arlen, a fictional town in Texas. The show offered a unique insight into the middle-America mindset, led by the moral compass of propane and propane accessory salesman Hank Hill.

No real details about the revival are available right now, but expect the show to remain practically the same, as Judge and Daniels always said they set out to make a live-action sitcom in animated form, so the wacky and unbelievable you might see on other animated shows is nowhere to be found on King Of The Hill.

This announcement comes along with news of several other projects from Bandera, including upcoming Netflix series Bad Crimes, an animated comedy crime procedural, and also a revival of Judge’s other series, Beavis and Butt-Head, which was announced before the formation of Bandera.

Judge went on to create Silicon Valley after King Of The Hill concluded, while Daniels previously worked for The Simpsons for a number of years before the show. He currently works on the Netflix series Space Force.

There’s no doubt the duo have plenty of experience and talent in the animated comedy world, and it will be interesting to see how they adapt King Of The Hill to fit the modern landscape.
