Per Collider, Logan Lerman is in talks to star in Jordan Peele‘s Nazi-hunting series The Hunt at Amazon. David Weil created the revenge-driven show and will serve as showrunner alongside Nikki Toscano, while Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions is producing the series, which Amazon has given a 10-episode order to.
The series is set in the late 70s and based on an original idea by Weil that he drew from real-life events. Lerman is up for the role of Jonah Heidelbaum, a young man seeking vengeance when he finds himself swept into a secret group known as The Hunters, who are devoted to rooting out Nazi officials who now live in America under false identities.
Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Me And Earl And The Dying Girl) is expected to direct the first episode, though it seems Peele is unlikely to do so himself, as he also has other projects in the works such as The Twilight Zone revival and his feature film follow-up to Get Out, Us.
Lerman has taken on more adult fare in recent years and has thrived in roles in films such as Indignation and The Vanishing Of Sidney Hall. It’s unclear what exact genre The Hunt will fall under, but either way this role will still be a departure from the character-driven dramas Lerman has starred in recently.
The Hunt is slated to begin production this February in New York.
