London Singer Anna B Savage Shares New Post-Punk Single ‘A Common Tern‘ | Music News

 

Singer and songwriter Anna B Savage from London has announced her upcoming album A Common Turn and shared the same-named lead single with us. “A Common Tern” is a post-punk/rock single that comes with an artsy, captivating music video.

 

Anna B Savages comes from a household of musicians and grew up with her parents who performed as classical singers. 2015 she created her first EP and developed her deep, rich voice. This EP gained her first attention of the international press and of Father John Misty and later Jenny Hval, both of whom took Savage under their wing.

 

Then she concentrated on forming her biggest project so far – the upcoming album A Common Tern, which is full of personal and cultural references. She’s also addressing serious topics as female pleasure or mental health. Even though her music is deeply vulnerable, the individual songs radiate strength and power.

 

With her emotive songwriting she addresses to “anyone who thinks hard, feels deeply, and asks big questions”. Now Anna B Savage is offering us a further inside into the upcoming project, wich will be released on January 29 via City Slang.

 

The song deals with toxic relationships and breaking out of old circumstances we boult ourselves. Anna’s moment when she decided she need to change collapses with the moment when she sighted the common tern, she has a strong passion for.

 

They’re actual dinosaurs and we just think they’re normal. The huge journeys they do, their ever presence, in one way or another. They are at once familiar and yet so strange and weird,” she say says about her fascination she even had back in her childhood.
