British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lots Holloway has shared a brand-new single, “Off My Brain”. The delicate ballad about heartache is full of elegance and at the same time undeniably catchy.
Hailing from Cornwall, Lots moved to London at the age of 17 to pursue a career in music. In 2012, Holloway became finalist of a British talent show, but decided to record songs independently. Androgynous artist has a knack for intimate authentic lyrics anyone can relate to, regardless of gender.
Backed by music magazines like Clash and Wonderland, as well LGBTQ+ publications such as Gay Times and DIVA, Lots produces infectious alt-pop music with a vintage touch to it. Holloway’s talent was quickly spotted by BBC Introducing London’s Jess Iszatt, who declared herself a “big fan” of the singer.
The latest offering from the British musician and producer can be described as outstandingly personal. In the artist’s own words: “Although I’m completely wearing my heart on my sleeve and sharing my darkest stories, I feel so much more comfortable, this music is me, and it feels right, for the very first time”.
The demo for “Off My Brain” was recorded in Lots’ front room, but the final version of the touching piano ballad took shape at Bryan Ferry’s recording studio in Kensington. The song’s premiere on October 23 coincides with Holloway’s show at Old Queens Head in London.
