Netflix Releases First Trailer For Latest Adam Sandler Comedy ‘Hubie Halloween’ | Film Trailer

Netflix has released the first trailer for Adam Sandler‘s latest comedy as part of his ongoing deal with the streaming giant.

This one is Hubie Halloween, a – you’ll never guess – Halloween-centric comedy featuring Sandler, Modern Family‘s Julie Bowen (who Sandler previously collaborated with on Happy Gilmore), Kevin James and Kenan Thompson.

Sandler plays Hubie Dubois, who thanklessly spends every Halloween making sure the residents of his hometown of Salem celebrate safely and play by the rules. But this year, an escaped criminal and a mysterious new neighbour have Hubie on high alert, and when people start disappearing, Hubie has to convince the police and townsfolk that the monsters are real, and only he can stop them.

At this point in Sandler’s career, you know exactly what you’re going to get from his comedies. Anyone expecting a nuanced Uncut Gems performance here is going to be disappointed – especially with Sandler bringing back the funny voice – but if you want some easily consumable Halloween hijinks, this will probably go down pretty easy.

The cast also includes Sandler favourites Steve Buscemi and Rob Schneider, as well as names such as Maya Rudolph, Ray Liotta and Shaquille O’Neal. The film hits Netflix on seemingly their new preferred weekday of releasing – Wednesday, October 7th.
