Netflix Unveils Trailer For ‘The Politician’ | Film Trailer

Firstly, here is the official synopsis: “Payton Hobart (Platt), a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, California, has known since age seven that he’s going to be President of the United States. But first, he’ll have to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all: Saint Sebastian High School.

To get elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard, and stay on his singular path to success, Payton will have to outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and carefully crafted image. Full of dark comedy and sly satire, Ryan Murphy’s ‘The Politician’ offers a rare glimpse into just what it takes to make a politician“.

The main character will be played by Broadway actor Ben Platt and he’s joined by Gwyneth Paltrow who plays his mom. It’s Paltrow small screen comeback since an appearance as a brief cameo in Nightcap in 2016. Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton and more will be part of the satirical dramedy.

It’s the first time Ryan Murphy (writer and producer of American Horror Story, American Crime Story and Glee) will produce a series for Netflix. And it won’t be the last one either. Indeed, Murphy has signed a 5-year deal with the streaming service and Netflix has already commissioned two seasons of The Politician.

I’m 21 and I’m French. I was a law student, but then I realized I wasn’t fit for that, so I decided to take a year off school to prepare for a journalism master exam. That’s the reason I’m doing an internship for Conversation About Her.

I spent 18 years in Africa due to my father’s job, and this experience has made me want to become a journalist. Writing has always been one of my hobbies, as well as art. I’m passionate about 60’s film, art house film, and also by modern art.

Have your say....
