NYC-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Rebecca McCartney has just released a new single titled “Behind Closed Doors“. This song is about heartbreak and talks of hiding. It’s filled by her amazing vocals and deep lyrics.
Rebecca McCartney grew up in her hometown in New York City and has since then, been immersed in the city’s classical music world. She had footsteps to follow in the music world, her mother being a clarinettist, and she learned the true passion for music and the energy that has only grew since then.
She started writing songs throughout her childhood and she eventually released her debut record under the duo name Garden Party that she created with one of her close friends, Jakob Leventhal in 2020.
Now she’s going solo after studying jazz in college and after playing in a R&B band, she’s finally back in New York with a pathway ahead of her with the release of her debut EP.
With this work she shows her gender-bending power when it comes to music and calls on multiple influences like D’Angelo, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell and Lianne La Havas. This EP titled “How You Feel” celebrates her strong vocals and absorbing lyricism.
