The collective I.M Yoni have released their new single “Perfect Place” featuring artist Yasmin and remixed by Toucan Sounds!
I.M Yoni is a women’s group based in Mexico City and coming from different parts of the world. The group consists of Estefani Brolo, the twin sisters Josefa and Esperanza de Velasco, Ana Rizo, Ximena Duggan and Valeria Cruz. They are singers, producers, songwriters, musicians and actresses.
They have come together to address the issue of gender equality in the art world. They produce funk, r&b, dance and pop music in Spanish and English. Through this collective, they collaborate with women in film, music, photography, editing, graphic design and other fields, with people who share the same passions as they do.
Yasmin’s a DJ. She has worked with big names like Pharrell Williams, Diplo, Major Lazer, Gorgon City, Breakbot and brands like Nike or Yves Saint Laurent.
She has toured all over the world. She has been performing on Rinse FM for 4 years. She has also performed at Coachella, Glastonbury and Corona Capital.
The Brooklyn-based independent label Toucan Sounds creates release events and mixtapes with house music and indie disco. This label operates out of Youtoocanwoo, a music and production studio.
