‘Predator’ Sequel Will Reinvent The Franchise | Film News

John Davis, producer of the forthcoming Predator sequel, has stated that the Shane Black directed flick will ‘reinvent the franchise’. After the announcement of the film and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Black was to direct, information was kept very much under wraps about what we could expect from the film, other than the knowledge that the script has been written by Black and his writing partner Fred Dekker.

At the Television Critics Association Davis, who was present in order to plug his new NBC series The Player, answered some questions about plans for the new Predator film.

Shane shot a movie and he’s doing a pilot now, but I’ve read a lot of his script and I think it’s genius,” He stated, and went on to say “I think it’s genius and I think it’s entertaining, and what it did is recreate a famous franchise in a different, interesting way; looking at it from a different light. He’s just an amazing writer-director. He’s got a way of looking at this that makes you excited again.

No further information has been released regarding casting, plot details or a potential release date, but Shane Black’s new feature The Nice Guys starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe is set for a May 2016 release.
