SiDizen King Releases New Collaboration With Wes Period ‘Sugar Lemon Tree’

His style was thought to be experimental and niche when SiDIZEN KING started his career with the debut album Stuck in the Middle.

The time was the height of the Soundcloud rap era, where SiDIZEN KING’s style was contrasting the ubiquitous trap stylings that was dominating the music landscape of that time.

Sid brought a solid and new mix of rap, dance, and indie rock which became a bellwether for where Hip Hop would eventually migrate.

Today, SiDIZEN KING is still considered a pioneer of Hip Hop, who like to experiment and push the boundaries of this music genre to create new experiences.

His new project, “Sugar Lemon Tree” is an ode to the journey if finding joy in the face of adversity and uncertainty.

SiDIZEN KING’s new song was developed in collaboration with LA-based artist Wes Period, Sean Cook, and Grammy-nominated McKay Stevens.

In “Sugar Lemon Tree” SiD and Wes explore this journey, where they explore ways to cultivate self-discovery and inner peace in the current world, where polarisation, fads, and opinions are spreading in the society, affecting our everyday life.

“Sugar Lemon Tree” is neither preachy nor prescriptive, but it chooses to have an optimistic yet clear-eyed perspective on exploring the lows back to higher ground.
