‘Star Trek Beyond’ Trailer Will Feature In Previews Before ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ | Film News

Set phasers to stun, well that’s what director Justin Lin has done, for his upcoming Star Trek Beyond will feature during the movie previews for rival film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s almost like space isn’t big enough for the two of them, it’s Disney vs Paramount… Fight! Set for release on July 22, 2016, the film acts as a sequel to 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness and is third installment of the Trekkie reboot series.

The film is the first not to feature J.J Abrams as its director, due to him directing Episode VII of the Star Wars saga. However, he’s not fully betraying the starship Enterprise, for he will act as producer for the upcoming film. Returning crew members include the obvious Chris Pine (Captain Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Karl Urban (McCoy),  Simon Pegg (Scotty), John Cho (Sulu), Zoe Saldana (Uhura) and Anton Yelchin (Chekov). Currently, little is known about the latest installment, so expect more updates. Live long and prosper.
