English musician Steven Wilson has released a brand new song!
Entitled “Anyone But Me“, the work was recorded during sessions for the singer’s sixth solo album The Future Bites, which was released earlier this year, but it didn’t make the final cut of the album.
Lyrics of “Anyone But Me” tell how “it’s possible to present to the world a version of yourself via social media“, according to the singer. Its’ melodic and catchy chorus with the lines, “I don’t wanna be anything but me now“, will be relatable for a large audience of listeners.
According to Wilson, “this song was a casualty of COVID-19.It was originally the closing song on The Future Bites, the album was even mastered and cut with it in place, but the delay in releasing the album gave me the chance to re-evaluate and I decided to replace it with the more laid back and atmospheric Count Of Unease“.
Currently, Steven Wilson is finishing his first book, which is expected to be published by Little Brown later this year! On top of that, Steven is now concentrating on new music projects: two albums that are planned for a 2022 and 2023 release respectively!
