Berlin-based Swedish indie rock artist, Fred Waves, has unveiled his dreamy new single “Feel It In My Bones,” a track encapsulating his adventurous musical journey spanning three countries: Sweden, Germany, and the United States. The song serves as an embodiment of his unique indie rock project, offering a rich tapestry of international influences.
The project, brainchild of musician and producer Fredrik Sundqvist, was conceived back in 2019 in his hometown of Katrineholm, Sweden. It gradually took shape amidst the pandemic, initially in Berlin and later in Florida, making its official debut in December 2022 with the compelling single “Take My Time”. Fred Waves kicked off 2023 with two more captivating tracks, “Sweet Haze” and “Dead Flowers”.
As Fred Waves gears up for a string of solstice gigs in Sweden and Germany in summer 2023, the new single “Feel It In My Bones” emerges as a soundtrack to the artist’s evolution.
Penned in Katrineholm just before relocating to Germany, the track explores the clash between our inner worlds and the reality of our surroundings, advocating for individual freedom and the power to break free from societal constraints.
The creation of “Feel It In My Bones” spanned across three countries, reflecting its international character through contributions from a global ensemble of musicians.
Co-produced by Fred Waves and Dutch musician Bo Keijmel, who also plays bass on the track, the song features German and Serbian artists Hendrick Görsch and Filip Jankovic on lead and rhythm guitars respectively, with Italian drummer Giorgio Murer, and German keyboardist Max Glass.
Before creating Fred Waves, Sundqvist explored diverse sounds ranging from death metal to hip-hop with local Swedish bands during his teens. A year at BIMM Berlin in 2019 further fueled his desire for new inspirations. He weathered Berlin’s harsh pandemic lockdowns by writing songs and refining his sound.
As the world started reopening, he traveled to Florida to record an album that ultimately never came to be. Instead, he immersed himself in Florida’s vibrant live music scene, performing intensively for several months before returning to Berlin in 2022.
Following his experiences in live music circuits across Sweden, Florida, and Berlin, Fred Waves is thrilled to share his music on his own terms.
With plans to release more music, tour Sweden and Germany, and fully enjoy the Fred Waves project with collaborators and new listeners, he promises an honest and pure indie rock sound with poignant lyrics and howling guitar solos.
