Tan France one of the stars of Queer Eye and designer, model and journalist Alexa Chung have been confirmed as the new hosts of Netflix’s new series, Next In Fashion, a competition where eighteen designers challenge in a battle to become the next big thing. No date has been set for the launch, but season one will have ten episodes.
Like Project Runway and other shows in the field, Next in Fashion will start with a pool of designers and put them through a series of fashion challenges centering on a different trend or design style that has influenced the way the entire world dresses.
Between the judges, stylist Elizabeth Stewart and Instagram fashion guru Eva Chen are among judges who will evaluate their creations. More guest judges will be announced. The eighteen designers have worked for major brands and dressed A-list celebrities. They’ll compete for a $250,000 prize and the chance to debut a collection with retailer Net-A-Porter.
Next in Fashion is is created and produced by theoldschool and is executive produced by Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton (Masterchef) and co-exec produced by Adam Cooper.
If you don’t know Alexa Chung, she’s not only a model and designer, she presented It’s On with Alexa Chung for MTV in 2009, and more recently co-hosted Fuse News in 2012, and currently hosts an online series for Vogue UK. As a writer, she previously wrote a monthly column for British women’s magazine Company and the newspaper The Independent, and was made a contributing editor at British Vogue a decade ago.
