Taraji P. Henson Knows What Men Are Thinking In ‘What Men Want’ | Film Trailer

Ever wondered what is going on in your man’s head, apart from food, basketball and sex? Well, the reboot of 2000’s What Women Want is here to tackle it down for you and make the discovery of the century.

The debut trailer for What Men Want shows Taraji P. Henson, who you might recognize from Empire, Hidden Figures and Think Like A Man, as Ali, a competitive sports’ agent who struggles to make it into this exclusively men’s world.

After Ali fails to make the promotion she so hard worked for, she hits a rough patch. But after a visit to a shaman and a wild night out with her girlfriends, she ends up in the hospital. When she wakes up, Ali discovers that she can hear what men are thinking, giving her a unprecedented advantage and an insight into the men’s equally complicated world.

This new remake of the original hit, that almost manages to turn Mel Gibson into a charming, redeeming chauvinist before the actor hit his rock bottom, is getting the #MeToo‘s treatment, with Henson at the helm of what looks like a fresh and fun comedy.

I like this female look into what it really means to work in a male environment, and I’m sure that within funny jokes and laugh out loud moments the flick will provide some reflective moments as well.

Personally, I’m a fan of Henson and her work. She is a great actress with an amazing comedic timing, so I’m sure she will deliver a solid and enjoyable performance. Add to that, that she will probably make fun of men’s sexist and idiotic jokes, I’m sure we are in for a treat.

Given the success of recent female-centred flicks, What Men Want should be able to bring storms of women to the theatre and deliver another box office hit. Let’s go get that girls’ power, am I right?
