‘Terminal’ Director Takes Over Psychological Thriller ‘Every Breath You Take’ | Film News

Terminal director Vaughn Stein will direct the psychological thriller, Every Breath You Take. He replaces Christine Jeffs (Sunshine Cleaning), who dropped off the project for undisclosed reasons a few weeks ago. It was a frantic search for Southpaw Entertainment and Fourward Entertainment as a replacement was needed quickly, with shooting beginning this week.

The film stars Casey Affleck as a psychiatrist whose career is thrown into jeopardy when a patient takes her own life. When he invites the patient’s surviving brother into his home to meet his wife and daughter, his family life is suddenly torn apart. The film reunites Affleck with Michelle Monaghan. The duo previously starred in the thriller Gone Baby Gone.

Stein’s Terminal – which followed the intertwining lives of two assassins, a fatally ill teacher, a janitor and a waitress, all of whom become part of an evil mastermind’s murderous plan – was a potentially big deal as it starred Margot Robbie, but wasn’t received particularly well.

He’s currently in post-production on his second feature, a mystery thriller titled Inheritance that stars Lily Collins, Simon Pegg and Connie Nielsen. Hopefully both films turn out a little better than Terminal. In each project, he’s certainly got the cast to elevate a film, so we’ll see what he can craft.
