The Gang Is Back Together In First Trailer For ‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ | Film Trailer

The first trailer for Zombieland: Double Tap has arrived. The sequel to the 2009 film came together quickly over the last year following a close-to-the-vest development process. The film reunites the original cast of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin with director Ruben Fleischer.

The gang continues to make their way across the zombie-ridden dystopia, however a lot has changed over the last ten years. Fleischer explained that zombies have evolved during that time: “The one that’s causing the big threat are the T-800 zombies, that are stronger, faster, harder to kill”.

Despite that added threat, the above trailer is still packed full of gags and has a similarly irreverent vibe to the first film. In fact, the zombies are barely seen in the trailer. We are instead reacquainted with the foursome and their fun, quasi-family dynamic.

Fortunately for fans, Double Tap doesn’t look like a lazy, cash-grab sequel to a classic comedy like Dumb And Dumber To and Zoolander 2 were. The comedic chemistry is still there, and the actors seems to be relishing playing these roles again. And in the decade since the last film, the zombie genre has developed dramatically. It will be interesting to see how Double Tap addresses that.

Rosario Dawson, Zoey Deutch, and Luke Wilson are also on board the sequel. The film hits cinemas Friday, October 18.
