Everyone’s collective BFFs and all around inspirational humans Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are set to host Saturday Night Live together on December 19 (insert screams of joy). This serves as the perfect Christmas gift for fans of the longtime besties and SNL alums. This will be the fifth time Fey hosts the show and the second time for Poehler, but the first time they share the honor. Their musical guest is none other than Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, so mark your calendars.
The dynamic duo made history in 2004 when they became the first female duo in SNL’s long running history to host the Weekend Update segment, which they continued to do for two years until Fey’s departure for 30 Rock. They joined forces once again in 2008 for one of the show’s most memorable and brilliant sketches in which Poehler played Hillary Clinton and Fey delivered a spot on impression of Sarah Palin who could see “Russia from my house“.
The good news doesn’t end there as SNL has awarded us with more Christmas goodies; Ryan Gosling will make his long-awaited hosting debut on December 5 followed by another desirable host Chris Hemsworth on December 12. Fey and Poehler have also received the honor of being this year’s final episode and if we know Amy and Tina right this will mean going out with a bang. Their highly anticipated comedy Sisters premieres just in time for the Christmas holiday on December 12 (UK release date).
