The Weeknd Reveals New Look In ‘Save Your Tears’ Video | Music News

When The Weeknd performed his song “Save Your Tears” from his album After Hours at the 2020 American Music Awards, his face was mysteriously bandaged. Two days ago, he released a new music video for the song and has shocked his fans with a disturbing post-major plastic surgery look.

The 30-year old singer appears with thinned nose, bloated cheeks, puffed-up lips and surgery scars. While some of his fans see a joke, some believe these modifications are more definitive and are calling the Weeknd a “Modern version of Michael Jackson” in the comments. Others saw a reference to his 2018 hit “Can’t Feel My Face” saying “I bet he really cant feel his face now”.

One fan speculated that it was “shade” and a response to getting snubbed by the now-postponed 2021 Grammy Awards based on The Weeknd reaction on his Instagram story “The Grammys remains corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency”.

The effects studio Prosthetic Renaissance finally revealed yesterday on Instagram how they created this Botox-imitating ruse, “consisting of 4 prosthetic appliances, main face being a collapsible mold”.

In an interview with TMRW, The Weeknd said “The older I got, I was exposed to more music, and my voice became a chameleon going into different characters with each album. By following my own path and breaking industry norms, it seems to be influencing others”.

The Weeknd recently explains that his next record will be inspired by the pandemic or the Black Lives Matter movement.
