The first teasers for the upcoming seventh instalment of the Star Wars franchise wowed fans with stunning action sequences across beautiful alien landscapes. Even through such brief glimpses, it appears director J. J. Abrams has found the right tone for his film; the warm familiarity of the original trilogy, all space-opera and melodrama, with a disquieting discordant note; something isn’t quite right here.
We have been introduced to our protagonists, to our villains; but we have little idea as to the roles they will be playing. Despite two teaser trailers, a series of set photos, and information gleamed from the expansive toy line, we still don’t know the shape of the most anticipated film of the year; Star Wars: The Force Awakens. However, that may change later this month.
According to Starwars7News the new trailer will be revealed on October 19, the same day as advance tickets will go on sale. This third clip is expected to be the final trailer for the film, and follow suite by giving up the goods. The site has been reliable in the past and it would make sense for Disney to release the trailer this month, as the company has previously stated that it would drop in the Fall. Will the trailer reveal the true intentions of the mysterious First Order? Will we see a few more familiar faces? We’ll have to wait and see; but until then, internet, prepare to explode.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in the UK on December 18, and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, and Lupita Nyong’o, with Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher returning.
