Valentino Reveals Spring/Summer 2021 Haute Couture Collection | Fashion News

The show must go on” have been iconic words used throughout the years by the likes of many. Amongst the year we have had, we have seen how businesses and individuals alike have battled through unforeseen issues and overcome unsettling times. Things may be a little different, however there is light at the end of the tunnel.

One never thought fashion shows would be around, so it is delightful to write about Paris Haute Couture Week. Earlier in the week we were given the prime footage of Valentino Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

The collection was titled ‘Code Temporal‘ and the show took place in Galleria Colonna, Sala Grande in Rome.

Ironic and Iconic would be the words one would use to describe the venue choice; perhaps a little strange showcasing in Rome when it is Paris Haute Couture Week, none the less though, the venue is a true gem, a fitting place for a high status brand such as Valentino and certainly holds much history adding to the beauty of the designers fabrics.

The fashion house mentions the following on the collection, “The craft and emotionality of Couture, recorded into vibrant simplicity.”

The models were graced upon by two key fashion individuals; the first being Dame Pat McGrath, the most influential make up artist in the world according to Vogue and who further went on to make history as the first makeup artist to be named a Dame of the British Empire.

The second key figure is a gentleman by the name of Guido Palau, this hair stylist has worked on the likes of George Michael’s “Freedom” video, Calvin Klien’s 1994 fashion show and styled the shows of Prada, Alexander Wang and Versace among many others, Guido has been described as “The World’s most in-demand hair stylist” by British Vogue.

The Galleria Colonna only opens on Saturdays for the public so it was very thoughtful of the Colonna family to allow Valentino to use the space on a weekday. The Great Hall was the room used for this runway show, the multi coloured marble floors and flamboyant frames added to the richness of this show and complemented the looks of this season well.
