Veteran Actor John Hurt To Receive Knighthood In New Year’s Honours | Film News
John Hurt, who has been in the acting industry for longer than five decades, has received a knighthood at the age of 74. In 2003, he played an incarnated version of Doctor Who, possibly to say that he was the Doctor Who that never was. Hurt’s career has seen him go from a bit part in TV series Z Cars to Oscar-nominated actor for his roles in 1978’s Midnight Express and 1980’s The Elephant Man. His career is still going strong at 74, with many productions still in the pipeline.
