Watch Trailer For ‘Gavin And Stacey’ Christmas Special | TV Trailer

Fans got excited today as the BBC released the very first teaser trailer for the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special. The trailer was discovered buried at the end of the series three finale on BBC iPlayer, and shows a very harassed-looking Uncle Bryn (Rob Brydon) trying to cook Christmas dinner like his life depends on it, comically calling for back up on a walkie-talkie. He finally attracts the attention of a horrified Stacey (Joanna Page) and unimpressed Nessa (Ruth Jones) when he lets out a cry of pain. Instead of searching for it in the depths of BBC iPlayer however, you can now watch the trailer here:

The one-off sitcom episode will be aired on Christmas Day 2019, bringing the popular show back onto our screens for the first time since New Year’s Day in 2010. An impressive 10 million people tuned in to watch this last special, and there’s no doubt that fans will be keen to catch up with their beloved characters 10 years on.

Back in May, James Corden announced the Christmas special in a tweet, which read: “Ruth Jones and I have been keeping this secret for a while… We’re excited to share it with you. See you on Christmas Day @BBCOne #GavinandStacey”. The tweet gained over a quarter of a million likes, and fans have been guessing ever since what might come to light in this finale episode; did Smithy and Nessa end up together? What is Gavin and Stacey’s baby like? What did happen on that fishing trip?
