‘Wonder Woman’ Casts Connie Nielsen As Hippolyta | Film News
Just a day after Chris Pine spilled the beans on when the eagerly anticipated film is set, more exciting news has dropped. Making us fans even more excited, with all due respect to Batman v Superman which will undoubtedly be a thrilling ride, Wonder Woman is the one we’re waiting for.
Back in December it was revealed that Nicole Kidman, who was set to play Wonder Woman’s mother Hippolyta, had to walk away from the project due to scheduling conflict. But, now it seems that they have found their Amazon Queen. The Wrap has reported that Danish actress Connie Nielsen has been cast.
It won’t be the first time the Danish beauty dons a crown, she portrayed Roman royalty in Gladiator opposite Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix. Other credits include, Devil’s Advocate, One Hour Photo, Rushmore and The Good Wife. She will be joining an already impressive ensemble; Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis and Ewen Bremner. Wonder Woman is currently set for a June 23, 2017 release.
