It’s finally happening. For several years, DC have focused their movies around iconic superheroes Batman and Superman, but it looks like that’s all finally about to change; with their latest film expansion in the DC Cinematic Universe – Wonder Woman. Although the heroine will make her first appearance in Spring 2016 for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, an image has been released from the Amazonian’s solo film that features Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot, who posted the photo on her Twitter account.
Set for release in 2017, the highly anticipated Warner Bros movie is being directed by Patty Jenkins, who previously directed 2003’s Monster. So far, little is known about the upcoming movie, but Warner Bros have released an official press release of the movie’s cast that includes: Star Trek’s Chris Pine as Captain Steve Trevor, House of Cards’ Robin Wright, X-Men Origins: Wolverine’s Danny Huston, Harry Potter’s David Thewlis, Exodus: Gods and Kings‘ Ewen Bremner, American Hustle’s Saïd Taghmaoui, The Skin I Live In’s Elena Anaya and Shaun of the Dead’s Lucy Davis.
Now that Wonder Woman has begun filming, it’s likely more updates and news will follow. Until then, just keep counting down the days until June 23 2017…
