Yessica Woahneil – Stella | New Music
Singer-songwriter, Yessica Woahneil, hails from London, Ontario. Her new track “Stella” comes from the folk and ambient musician’s eight-track album titled Cheekbone. Yessica cites Bjork, Cat Power, Regina Spektor, Bob Dylan, Laura Marling, Fiona Apple, and Coeur de Pirate all as tastes and influences.
The stripped back song “Stella” is pleasing and very earnest in delivery. The guitar work is also wistful and very memorable, it all has the capacity to be a classic. On the other hand it’s not crafted to be a pop song for the sake of being popular, it merely just exists for the sake of expression.
