Amazon To Sell Festival And Concert Tickets With No Booking Fee | Music News

Amazon has announced they are to sell festival and concert tickets without any booking fee. Tom Jones, Supertramp, Madness, The Monkees and Status Quo are among the first wave of acts who are selling concert tickets through Amazon Local. The website already sells tickets for events, but wants to reach out to those who spend hundreds of pounds on festival weekend tickets and other live events.

We wanted to offer a convenient way for Amazon customers to book tickets to a wide selection of music, theatre and comedy events around the UK in a few clicks“, Geraldine Wilson, general manager, Amazon Local UK, said. “To build trust it was paramount that we provided transparent pricing from the start with no hidden extras at the checkout which customers told us can be really off-putting and confusing“. Earlier this year, Amazon started selling tickets for the West End and now they are widening their market to others. If this takes off then it could be a huge change to ticket selling websites, like Ticketmaster who attach a booking fee for ticket purchases.

I am a Royal Navy Veteran, a mum to two beautiful little girls and a wife to my fantastic husband Graeme. I currently write and edit articles in my spare time. Before this I studied Events Management and received a NVQ Level 3 and currently studying an interest course in Media Studies. I love to keep my brain ticking over and have a strong interest in music. I was brought up listening to the likes of Queen and Meatloaf as well as various 80s bands/singers including Bonnie Tyler. I listen to Bullet For My Valentine, Bryan Adams and Green Day to name but a few. My passion is music, but I also love to read and be out and about discovering new things.
