Arca – Sin Rumbo | New Music

After having released two albums in two years, Arca intends not to stop or slow down his race: the Venezuelan record producer released a new track yesterday, as well as announcing through a tweet a new free mixtape coming today. His third studio album, Reverie, will be released later this year.

“Sin Rumbo” is sonically reminiscent of the best and most upbeat moments in both his previous works (Mutant and Xen), while at the same time showing the artist’s vocal ability. This is the first time Arca sings over a track, and after having heard the result, we definitely want more of this Spanish funeral chant.

Watch the video for the track, directed by long-time collaborator Jesse Kanda, below.

I speak as loud as the volume I listen to music, and this is probably symptomatic of my love for pop music: I love pop music because it is often unapologetically in-your-face, it shouts rather than tell, it drives you crazy. And after 21 years loving pop music, I think I’ve completely gone mad. It all started in 1997, when my mum bought me my first cassette: needless to say, it was ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua, and from that point on, it’s been a never-ending loving relationship between me and music. I study, work and live life part-time, and listen to music full-time.
