Ellie Goulding – Beautifully Numb | New Music

It is known for a fact that Ellie Goulding records an incredible amount of songs: Delirium – released in November – contained more than 25 songs, and it is easily one of the lengthiest pop opuses recently released.

With such an album full of content, it comes as an unexpected and happy surprise that “Beautifully Numb”, an unreleased track leaked earlier this week. The song comes from the recording sessions of British pop princess’ latest album, and it’s a simple and heart-moving piano ballad which highlights Goulding’s vocal ability as well as her immense talent as a songwriter.

We wish she stuck with this sound that suits her a lot better, instead of trying to take over the pop world with her latest, lukewarm project. Listen to the track below.

I speak as loud as the volume I listen to music, and this is probably symptomatic of my love for pop music: I love pop music because it is often unapologetically in-your-face, it shouts rather than tell, it drives you crazy. And after 21 years loving pop music, I think I’ve completely gone mad. It all started in 1997, when my mum bought me my first cassette: needless to say, it was ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua, and from that point on, it’s been a never-ending loving relationship between me and music. I study, work and live life part-time, and listen to music full-time.
