American rock colossals Imagine Dragons are back with “Roots”, a single which does not feature on their sophomore album Smoke + Mirrors, released earlier this year. “Roots” is dedicated to the support they have recieved from their fans. The track itself features an all-consuming mechanical sounding beat that overpowers the lovely piano motif above it, the lead singer’s vocals however are strong and versatile as always.

The lyrics are strikingly relatable as always with the catchiest and most prominent being the chorus “Another day, another dull, another high, another low, rock bottom, I’m going back to my roots“. You can listen to the track below.

I am a 23 year-old musician from Luton, who graduated from De Montfort University with a 2:1 in BA Music Technology & Performance. I sing and write songs in my spare time and I am a massive music enthusiast. I listen to all kinds of different music from indie rock and folk to hip hop and deep house, but I am mainly influenced by hip hop and R&B. I have been interested in music all my life, it shaped my life from phase to phase and I cannot live without it. I try and see live music when I can and attended Reading Festival last year to see my favorite indie rock band Arctic Monkeys. My other interests include superhero and horror films, sports and binging on TV shows.
