Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has accepted the invitation to speak at Glastonbury Festival 2016. Corbyn will address fans in the left field area, and will be joined by Labour shadow chancellor John McDonell. Corbyn will discuss various social issues and the possibilities for genuine change.

Glastonbury Festival will take place on 22-26 June, which coincides with the UK EU referendum which is on 23 June 2016. Jeremy Corbyn will be the first Labour leader to speak at Glastonbury, although other union leaders have appeared at the festival before. Singer and Activist Billy Brag is in charge of organising the line up for the left field area this year and has praised Corbyn’s impact on activism.

‘The election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour Leader has galvanised a new generation of activists, and this year at the left field area we aim to give them a platform to discuss social justice, gender, the economy and the possibility for genuine change under a Corbyn government.
