On Annie Mac‘s Radio 1 show, Joe Mount from Metronomy stopped by to chat about their new album and song “Old Skool” which Mac premiered on May 11. The cheery song, according to an older interview with Q Magazine, is about not recognising anyone at a party and features Mix Master Mike of Beastie Boys fame.

“Old Skool” comes from upcoming July album Summer 08 which Mount calls an “upbeat record” and “the most fun thing I’ve done in a long time”. Little tidbit: the record was done in only two weeks, for “the most part”.

Summer 08 drops on July 1 but, until then, listen to the new song and the Radio 1 interview here.
