New Kishi Bashi Album To Come Out Within Days | Music News
Kishi Bashi, originally Kauru Ishibashi, of Seattle, came to prominence singing for New York electronic rock outfit, Jupiter One. After this came a spate as a touring violinist for the likes of Regina Spektor and Sondre Leche. Then came the solo career, so far spanning albums 151a (2012) and Lighght (2014). Now comes Sonderlust, due this Friday, September 16.
“Touring and its accompanying lifestyle took a heavy toll on my soul and my family,” Kishi revealed. Producer Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear), engineer Pat Dillet (Angelique Kidjo, David Byrne), and drummer Matt Chamberlain (Morrissey, Fiona Apple) all helped in the formation of the album.
