Oxford University And DJ Goldie Combine For Medieval Mash Up | Music News
A Hawick Missal Fragment of sacred music found in the Scottish Borders has induced a remarkable turn of events, seeing Oxford University academic Dr Sailsbury combine with DJ Goldie for a musical project that will surely be a fascinating development in the electronic scene. The piece referred to as a ‘fusion of modern and classical’ will be premiered in Glasgow this Saturday, August 30, thanks to Historic Scotland, and will inevitably inspire more DJs to dabble with medieval plainchant music. “It is surely a first for a DJ to sequence and mash-up medieval music“, said Dr Sailsbury.
