Taylor Swift To Be Sued For $42 Million | Music News

Taylor Swift

It’s time to add “Shake It Off” to the list long list of pop songs which have so called ‘stolen‘ lyrics from another song. Therefore, naturally, a lawsuit is in order to punish Tay Tay and pickpocket $42 Million from her purse. This time on the attack is R&B singer Jesse Braham, who goes by the stage name Jesse Graham (so original, I know), after he claims she allegedly copied lines from his track “Haters Gone Hate“.

The 50 year old singer claims “Her hook is the same hook as mine,” he told the Daily News Taylor Swift uses it about 72 times in her song. “If I didn’t write the song Haters Gone Hate, there wouldn’t be a song called Shake It Off“.

Although it seems this is a very trivial argument based on minor similarity Graham is adamant that he is entitled to compensation. After listening to the tracks myself, I can’t believe this claim has been made. A desperate attempt of attention and publicity if you ask me. If that’s the case then I suppose I’m apart of the problem… oops.  Then again, I’ll hand you the gavel and let you be the judge. Click on the corresponding videos to hear the two tracks:
