The Mirror Trap

What happens if you blindfold two children and encourage them to fight each other with weapons? The resulting behaviour is the focus of The Mirror Trap‘s new music video for “Piranhas”.

In this strange yet captivating video, the children fight with various weapons as adults stand by, alarmingly unmoved by the youngsters’ savagery. The first weapon to be thrown is in a baseball bat, but towards the end of the video it escalates to a kitchen knife and a hammer. As the violence gets more intense, the vocals follow suit.

“‘Piranhas’ is a song about fear,” explains front-man Gary Moore. Moore also likens life struggles to “the circling piranhas pulling at my flesh”, hence the title. The analysis of the song, and video, carries on via Gigwise.
