TRIM – RPG | Music Video

British indie 1-800 Dinosaur is ready to explode. The record label, run by Dan Foat and James Blake, is set to release its first full-length project in the form of the first album by grime MC TRIM.

Today, the rapper shared the video for the previously released, James Blake-produced “RPG”, off his debut 1-800 DINOSAUR Presents Trim (July 29). The track is an incredibly crazy, Mumdance-infused grime number featuring a looped robotic voice-over, claustrophobic synths and 8-bit sounding chimes. The video, directed by Natalia Stuyk, is a visually stunning acid trip as crazy as the accompanying track, and features features Trim rapping in front of a series of multicoloured backdrops.

I speak as loud as the volume I listen to music, and this is probably symptomatic of my love for pop music: I love pop music because it is often unapologetically in-your-face, it shouts rather than tell, it drives you crazy. And after 21 years loving pop music, I think I’ve completely gone mad. It all started in 1997, when my mum bought me my first cassette: needless to say, it was ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua, and from that point on, it’s been a never-ending loving relationship between me and music. I study, work and live life part-time, and listen to music full-time.
