Electronic indie duo City Park has just dropped their latest single “Who Am I”. Following the tracks “Getaway” and “Remedy”, this brand new track is the final single from City Park’s EP Balance/Contrast, all written and recorded in a garden shed in Amsterdam.
The Dutch band was born less than two years ago, when longtime friends Sjaak and Saux, who used to play together in their high school band, decided to form City Park, starting their creative and playful deconstruction of indie pop genre.
In their short but eventful career, City Park has worked together with Korean artist Jiye Kim, German Tatjana Prenzel and have recently supported Far Caspian, Gus Dapperton and Rhye.
“Who Am I” showcases the relatable, exciting feeling of falling in love too fast, too much and too hard. City Park depicted their latest single as a track about “a date that turns into a ‘thing’. You haven’t used the word ‘love’ yet, but you’d cancel all your plans to see the other person”.
You are likely going to relate to this song’s intense lyrics, but even if you don’t, this track’s distorted percussion, guitar licks and synths will definitely bring some fresh alternative pop vibes in your daily playlist.
