On August 9, 2023, Minneapolis producer and songwriter Charliecomehome, accompanied by vibrant New York singer Dage, unveiled their single “Femme Fatale” with an unapologetic demeanor and unwavering strength.
In this powerful track, Dage’s resilient and captivating spirit radiates through her strong vocal delivery, which is perfectly complemented by Charlie Come Home’s masterful production and Nathan Nakadegawa-Lee’s evocative saxophone solo.
Daniela Garcia-Escobar, known professionally as Dage, is a 21-year-old artist hailing from a diverse background, with Colombian and Canarian heritage. Born in New York, this promising talent is currently enrolled in The New School’s jazz and contemporary music program.
Deeply connected with the roots of jazz, Dage draws her inspiration from iconic figures such as Amy Winehouse, Joy Crookes, and Julie London, synthesizing these influences into her own unique style.
On the other side of this dynamic duo is Charles Heimes, who performs under the stage name Charlie Come Home. Originating from Minneapolis, Heimes is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter whose early involvement in band performances, DJing, and producing for vocalists laid the foundation for his thriving musical career.
He cites the electrifying funk realm sculpted by legendary artists like Prince, as well as the indie hip-hop culture fostered by Rhymesayers in the early 2000s, as major influences on his work. Currently, he is immersed in crafting a record for the jazz-rock fusion band, The New Approach.
“Femme Fatale” is a prelude to their upcoming collaboration, a Latin-infused, R&B/Soul debut album titled Fumero. This marks a significant evolution from their debut EP, The New Version of Night.
The project promises to narrate a vivid, compelling story, heavily influenced by elements of Dage’s own journey into womanhood. Listeners can anticipate soul-stirring lyrics, a rich and immersive sonic atmosphere, and harmonies that feel akin to a celestial embrace.
As the anticipation builds, music enthusiasts are invited to listen to “Femme Fatale” by Charlie Come Home and Dage, which is available now for a transformative musical experience.
