Oakland-born, Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Tim Atlas is set to unveil his nocturnal-themed Le Soir at the end of August, with lead single “See Thru” available to stream today.
The eponymous track “See Thru” showcases high-register vocals and evocative electric guitar over a translucent soundscape. It is a profound meditation on the pressures and insecurities of striving to be someone substantial in a demanding world.
Melding genres, he crafts a blend of R&B, neo-soul, alternative, and DIY bedroom pop that are charged with raw and unrestrained emotion, painting a vibrant picture of the thoughts and feelings that emerge when the sun goes down.
“The record is representative of a personal shift in my life,” Atlas observes, highlighting the intentional grittiness infused throughout the project. Le Soir translating to “at night” in French, is not merely a title but a thematic thread that weaves through each track.
It is a fitting name for an EP that Atlas describes as having a dark undertone, reflecting the vulnerability and depth of human emotions experienced in the stillness of night.
Tim Atlas, who has previously released projects such as All Talk! (2018), Together Lonely (2019), and the QUOTA EP (2021), is no stranger to the music scene. His work has resonated widely, accumulating hundreds of millions of streams and garnering applause from notable publications including Complex, Earmilk, The Line of Best Fit, and Spin.

The EP was introduced with the electrifying single “Knockin,” characterised by a jagged distorted riff and head-nodding groove punctuated by charging drums, the track showcases Atlas’s ability to create spellbinding sonic experiences.
