Colton Haynes might be primarily known for Arrow and his brief part in Teen Wolf – but he’s also known for keeping it real when it matters. He has previously spoken about his lifelong struggle with anxiety and been very open about mental illness and driven the conversation forward.
Now, he has opened up about his sexuality, well sort of. On Saturday, a Tumblr user expressed their excitement over Haynes “secret gay past”. “I got so excited even though I know it makes absolutely no difference in my life,” the user continued. Haynes quickly responded to the post, and it was perfect; “Was it a secret? Let’s all just enjoy life & have no regrets :)”.
The response may only consist of a few words, but it truly is perfect. Haynes addressed, intentionally or not, an important issue. Not talking about something doesn’t automatically make it a secret or something we are ashamed of. There are things in life we don’t parade around – because why should we have to talk about everything we’ve done.
Some things are only meant for a select few, and that only makes you a private a person. He ends his message on a perfect note too, “just enjoy life”. So true, focus on what makes you happy and what makes you feel comfortable.
