Beach Skulls, originally from Liverpool, have since extended their territories to Manchester and Glasgow. Maybe in doing this they have established a wider fan-base, and can call more than one place home.
Their newest track, “Baby’s A Liar”, opens with scratchy guitar chords, despairing drums, and disconsolate vocals. It speeds up slightly before going back to how it began. There is definitely a grungy, alternative rock feel to it (though perhaps a tad more radio friendly). The middle section, however, is creepy; this creates a desolate soundscape.
The band have been snapped up by Punk Slime Recordings and new album, Slow Grind, emerges on April 29. Hear “Baby’s A Liar” below:
