Cream Bassist Jack Bruce Dies Aged 71 | Music News
The news of former Cream bassist Jack Bruce’s death has been confirmed by his publicist (via BBC News) and his official Facebook page. The cause of death was liver failure. The family have released a statement that reads: “It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts”. Bruce was a member of Cream, who released popular songs “I Feel Free” and “Sunshine of Your Love”, and played bass alongside Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker. After Cream split in 1968, Bruce carried on making music under his own name.
