Emerging Band Moa Moa Unveil Their Debut Single ‘Yellow Jacket’ | Music News

The emerging foursome moa moa have dropped their debut single “Yellow Jacket”, with the rising UK label Council Records, delivering an hypnotic track about love and jealousy.

Moa moa is comprised of songwriter and producer James Ratcliffe, Connor James, Dan Byrne and Matt Taylor. They came together in 2019 with the aim of combining unconventional songwriting and pop sensibilities.

Sounds like they accomplished their goal with “Yellow Jacket”. Influenced by artists like UMO, Tame Impala and Hiatus Kaiyote, moa moa’s single fully grabs your attention since its very first beats.

The playful lyrics of the track depict two people discussing about their relationship, featuring some sincere lines such as “cause my yellow jacket/looked better on you when /Your heart still beated for me”.

About “Yellow Jacket”, singer James Ratcliff stated: “I wanted to use the kind of clichés that we all find ourselves using when we’re trying to navigate feelings of jealousy, love and desire”.

Whether you can relate to this song’s topic or not, you will definitely enjoy watching the animated lyrics video realized by Thomas Sharp, that accentuates the words with bright colours and amazing artworks.

“Yellow Jacket” is the first of three singles to be release by moa moa in 2020, so keep posted. If you want to watch them live, add to your calendar their live performance at London’s Paper Dress Vintage on March, 18.
