Ezra Collective + Loyle Carner – What Am I To Do? | New Music

The release date for Ezra Collective‘s debut album is creeping closer and closer. It’s April 26 if you were none the wiser. Treating us to another taster of what this upcoming project will sound like, they team up with another homegrown British talent in Mercury-nominated rapper Loyle Carner on their latest single “What Am I To Do?“.

This brand new cut is delightfully laid back. Ezra Collective’s smooth jazz blueprint and flawless improvisation serves as the perfect backdrop to Carner’s nonchalant delivery. It, at times, feels off the cuff and freestyled but his blues still have the finish that we expect the moment Loyle Carner graces the mic.

Considering the jazz influences of Carner’s acclaimed debut album Yesterday Is Gone, the pairing is bound to work.

Ezra Collective are a well known name in the London and UK Jazz scene and this forthcoming album will certainly be a delight to many. The Hip-Hop influence in their work is distinguishable and this track bears some of the sentiments.

You Can’t Steal My Joy is out real soon and the record will also feature a notable appearances from Jorja Smith. A frequent collaborator with the collective, she recently collaborator with Loyle on “Loose Ends” – having been named dropped in the track.
