Gucci have confirmed that Frida Giannini has left her role as creative director one month earlier than expected. She will therefore not take part in the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection. It was previously announced in December that Giannini and her husband Patrizio Di Marco were both leaving their roles at Gucci, with new CEO Marco Bizzarri replaced Di Marco at the start of this year. It is unknown what caused the abrupt exit, as the decision had been seen as an amicable split. One of the leading contenders to replace her is head accessories designer Alessandro Michele, who joined Gucci in 2002.
